    The memory allocated to the virtual machine seems to be a fixed value in PD6. Is there no way to adjust the ram for my Windows 7 applications?

    I'm looking at upgrading the 4-gig to 8-gig in the iMac. Will this help? Can't find specific info for changing memory in PD version 6.

    Thanks.

    with VM shutted down go to edit configuration:

    Parallels Menu ->Virtual Machine->Configure...->General

    and edit the ammount of ram to allocate to VM using the slider or directly entry the value in the fild

    hope this help.

    p.s. upgrading the physical ram of the host system is a good thing if needed.

    Thanks, nikeitan, the steps you suggest work in earlier versions but not in PD6. At least not in my setup. The amount shown is fixed. (Grayed between 1 & 2 gigs) That's the problem. Is there some other way to change this setting?

    OK, I lied. Now it works. I guess the last update changed it. But I run graphics (CorelDraw) and think I still need to upgrade the memory in my iMac from 4 to 8 gigs. Thanks again for the help.
