I currently have Steermouse 4.0.1 and Parallels 4.0 (4.0.4838), all running on a Macbook Pro 2.66, with 4gig ram, OS 10.6.1 Snow. Mouse is a Logitech bluetooth V470 Steermouse works fine on the Mac side, but inside Parallels running Win7 32bit, I cannot get the buttons to map correctly. Specifically I am trying to "browser back" which should be alt + left arrow. And close window which is control w. The middle scroll button is set to expose, which works fine in or out of Parallels. If I open up wordpad, and tilt the wheel to close the window, it types a w. So part of the command is being sent. It's just not sending control + w to the windows guest OS. I have installed the Parallels tools, and under device manager it says "Parallels Mouse Synchnronization Device". Any tips or ideas would be great. Jeff
Also having a similar issue... Only, I can't even get my Middle Button and Scroll Wheel to work in Windows 7. The scroll wheel worked up until just recently, not sure what caused the issue... I've always wanted my Back + Forward mouse buttons to work as well, but I gave up on that a while back when I couldn't find any solutions online... Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thx! ~John
Ok, hope I am not violating any forum rule by resurrecting such an old post, but I have just figured out how to map the back and forward in Window(within Parallels, in Firefox anyway) to work and thought I might share it just in case it might help somebody still searching for the answer. In the "Default" profile of Steermouse, I map "Cmd+[" and "Cmd+]" to Button 7 & 8 AND Tilt Wheel of my Logitech 5 Button Mouse(7&8 are supposed to be same as Tilt Wheel but just setting them in Tilt Wheel does not seem to work). This takes care of "Back" and "Forward" for me within Firefox within Mac setting. Nothing exciting here. Now, I go to Parallels Desktop > Preference > Keyboard, and add a remapping of Mac>Win Keyboard Shortcut of: "Cmd+[" to "Alt+Left(arrow)" and "Cmd+]" to "Alt+Right(arrow)", and Viola!!!! Back and Forward suddenly starts to work in Window Firefox now!!!! I was using Button 7&8 and Tilt Wheel for this, but I am sure this would work for Button 4&5 or other combinations too. Hope this helps somebody. (I tried creating a new profile in Steermouse for Parallels Desktop App but it does not seem to do anything)
