I have upgraded to parallels 6 and virtual machine i depend on isn't supported AMP WDS (as far as I can tell). Is it possible to run parallels 6 for win7, etc and parallels 5 for AMP WDS?
Only if Parallels 5 and 6 are installed on different partitions. Which means you need more than one Mac OS boot partition. Shrink your existing Mac OS partition and add a new partition. Then install Mac OS X to the new partition. Then boot the new partition. Then install the other Parallels.
If AMP WDS works ok with Parallels 5 then it should work with Parallels 6. Maybe there's a boot flags setting that will help it work like it did in Parallels 5? devices.net.force_adapter_type=rtl http://kb.parallels.com/9041 devices.apic.disable=1 http://kb.parallels.com/7060 devices.usb.enable_mouse=0;devices.usb.enable_keyboard=0 http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=104373 http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=104224
Thanks for this info. I will take a look into these. To get things back online, I have reverted to Parallels 5 and I am currently copying all the data from the VM and looking into alternative solutions. As for Parallels 6, once I have another solution I might install it again as I was impressed with its Windows 7 performance Cheers David
Hi Joevt, You are a genius, the devices.net.force_adapter_type=rtl http://kb.parallels.com/9041 mod works to get the AMP WDS server running on the network Cheers David
