Hello, I've downloaded the most recent Beta of parallels and installed Windows XP SP2 on the virtual machine. After the installation, I also installed the VMTools. Fullscreen mode works, but I cannot set Windows XP to the native 1440x900 resolution. It only supports 1440x1050 and smaller resolutions which do not look really good on the screen. Is there some sort of driver so that XP supports 1440x900? thanks for your help in advance. Tom
Can I ask you to consider one more thing. When you switch into full screen mode, automatically switch to native resolution. When you switch out, automatically switch to whatever resolution it used to be. Otherwise, the user will have to keep switching resolution manually whenever they go in and out of full screen mode. I think that support for this feature is not difficult and will be available in the final version through our guest tools.
Excellent. It would be nice to also have other resolutions, maybe even custom ones. We could surely use a resolution greater than 1024x768 on a MacBook Pro. I use my MacBook Pro with the dock on the side so there's plenty more space on the bottom. And with the status bar hidden, a resolution around 1024x840 would be terrific. Custom resolutions would be perfect.
I find the 1200x800 setting works really well. It fits on screen, even with the toolbar on (or the status bar, your pick,) and is a nice 'nearly widescreen' mode for when in fullscreen. (Ironically, it's the same aspect ratio as the old 15" PowerBook G4, which uses the 3:2 ratio, used by no other Apple widescreens.)
