Happened with beta 2, then when I upgraded to Beta 3 problem went away and has returned in RC2...

Whenever I open a explorer window, application window, etc. everything runs smooth as silk until I click the close window button. I get about a two-second pause, then a beach-ball for about 5 seconds, then the system returns to normal. This is very consistent with every window I open and close.

    MacBook 2GB RAM
Memory settings for Paralells have been played with in automatic and manual 1024 configurations
Win/XP with 256 or 384MB RAM settings do the same thing.

    Any ideas out there?

    Is this in coherence mode?

This started for me in 3106 and then in 3120 and still exists in 3150. I've sent a bug report to [email protected]. The only fix is to go into the Task Manager and kill the ParallelsToolsCenter.exe which does the clipboard synchronization.

Once I do that - all is great :) No more beachballs EVER.

BTW - I tried simply disabling all the options in there and that didn't help.

yep, wanted to confirm that when I uninstalled parallels tools, the symptom went away. Came back when reinstalled.

Keep it installed - just kill the process. Keeping it installed gives you EVERYTHING BUT clipboard synching and Drag and drop file sharing.

I'm getting this now in RC3. Didn't happen with RC2 which is annoying. Killing the process worked.

UPDATE: I installed my windows updates (unrelated), shutdown windows, the VM and parallels. Installed Mac updates (unrelated) and rebooted MacOSX.

Started up parallels and the problem has gone.....

confirming I fixed the pause as well by closing down windows and parallels and rebooting mac osx. Any ideas on why this fixes the issue?
