    Hi,

I have a year old macbook pro running parallels with a windows 7 VM. It originally ran great and I found it great to use. For a couple weeks now the VM runs so slowly it's just not worth using it. Parallels itself is still as quick as usual and it doesn't seem to be affecting the performance of the OS X at all. As Parallels 6 has just been released I decided to upgrade in the hopes that this would solve the problem but it hasn't made any difference. I've also had problems with the VM not connecting to the internet now whereas this was never a problem before.

I installed windows xp as another VM and it ran fairly smoothly as well so I've exhausted all my ideas at fixing the problem except for reinstalling the whole system. I would rather avoid this as it would take ages to install all my windows applications again!

If anyone has any ideas for what I can try please let me know!

(My macbook has a 2.53 Ghz intel core 2 duo processor, 4 GB ram and is currently running OS X 10.6.4)

    Same here...

I have an 8-core Mac Pro with 6GB of RAM and booting up my Windows 7 Ultimate VM is slow.

It makes the rest of my machine act like a slug.

I have attached my settings as screengrabs.

Am I totally doing this wrong?

Windows isn't really usable like this.
    Every click takes ages.

    Have a nice day!

    early2008 MacPro 8-core, 12G ram
PD5 ran ok and PD6 was touted as a speed up. No so.
