I just have to give the people at Parallels a big ATTA-BOY for the drag and drop. Each month i convert a magazine to web and i have to deal with a lot of large files, so i would have to take them out of the dmg to a folder in mac the copy them thru shared folders and all this would take over an hour. I just did in 10 minutes. I could drag right from dmg folder to windows.
Just an FYI - there have always been better ways of doing what you've been trying to do. Technically what you are doing is file transfers. If you had asked for advice I'd bet the solutions would have filled a page or more.
huh? hello i have been coding for year, if there was a faster way of getting the files out of specific subfolder dynamically and bring them into a windows folder i would have done it too. this i not just a simple copy, i have to find the files in different folders each month.
Ok, Mac uses the Cmd key and Windows uses the Control key. So, being a PC guy for so long, ive got ctrl-key embeded in my fingers and can't get used to using the Windows key as the mac cmd key. I use a windows usb keyboard. So on the Mac side i flipped the keys so the Control key is the Mac cmd key. well ever since i can remember Parallels has fiipped them back (for some unknown reason) and so Ive had to use autoHotKey to remap the Ctrl key back to being the Ctrl key. and i did that thru software. Now with this new setting i dont need the autohotkey under xp anymore because this new setting allows me to set it back to ctrl. Plus, with this new preference i can now use ctrl under linux instead of the windows key. So there you have it.
