I just installed mobile Parallels on my iPhone and enabled mobile services on my home desktop. I logged in to my account on both devices. The mobile device can see my home machine but sees none of the virtual machines I have installed. I have six of them. Any clue what I might be doing wrong?
Maybe this will help. They replied to me with this... alas is has already happened again since I updated... Since then they have also sent me this: http://kb.parallels.com/en/8189 http://kb.parallels.com/en/8057 Thank you for contacting Parallels Technical Support. May you please follow the steps below in regards to the issue: 1) Go to Mac HD/Library/Parallels/ 2) Right-click on "Parallels Service.app" -> Show Package Contents. 3) Go to /Contents/PlugIns/ 4) Right-click on "Parallels Network Start.app" -> Show Package Contents 5) Go to /Contents/MacOS/ 6) Copy "prl_iphone_proxy" file. 7) Go to Mac HD/Library/Parallels/ 8) Right-click on "Parallels Service.app" -> Show Package Contents 9) Go to /Contents/PlugIns/ 10)Right-click on "Parallels iPhone Proxy.app" -> Show Package Contents 11)Go to /Contents/MacOS/ 12)Paste "prl_iphone_proxy" file. 13)Restart your Mac.
I wouldn't do this. The suggestion relates to previous version of Parallels Mobile and previous version of Parallels Desktop (ver 4 and 5). Eric Beyer problem is with brand new Parallels Mobile and Parallels Desktop 6.
No. I'm upgrading from v5, which was an upgrade from v4. This seems like a pretty big miss from the dev team, IMO. This should have been covered in a FAQ or help menu or something. Even better, the installer should have done this all for me. Will let you know how this goes.
Sorry just trying to help. I am still on Parallels Desktop 5 but had to redo this workaround for this bug after the latest update 5.09376 or whatever it is... Also the updated mobile app does not have manual entry so if you are having problems seeing your virtuals in your account list you have zero options. The iphone app is useless until I can manually enter again. Maybe it is something with their servers as I have even turned my firewall off in hopes of seeing my computer on my local network...
Which credentials were entered during connection from mobile application? They should be the same as for user which uses PD (you can use either system short login or long friendly name).
OK. Maybe I found the problem (?) I followed the steps jessv laid out. When I navigate to the package contents of Parallels Start, in the package contents directory /Contents/MacOS, I don't have a "prl_iphone_proxy" file. What I have is just a "prl_net_start" file. So there's nothing for me to copy and paste. EB
Nope. Forget about provided steps - they were related to PD version 5.0. If you're using PD 6.0 that isn't he case. Please provide exact steps that you were done during establish connection to your Mac host with mobile app - which credentials were specified for host authorization? Is it your main account which you're using for your ordinal work and where your PD VMs created?
same problem i have PD 6 , login on desktop and ipad with same credentials and cannot see my virtual machine.. 27 inch imac i7 running 10.6.4
parallels mobile Thanks... I logged out of mobileme and then parallels on the ipad was able to see the virual machines Cool
It's optional (to logout from MobileMe) see http://forum.parallels.com/showpost.php?p=422490&postcount=20 workaround how to use simultaneous MobileMe and Parallels mobile on the moment until the official fix from our side.
In my case this appears to be a known limitation I'm having the same problem with Parallels Desktop 6 build 11822 for Mac and Parallels Mobile for iPhone. In my case this appears to be a known limitation where the System Name and Friendly Name are the same for the account in Mac OS X and MobileMe is enabled.
