    Hello,

I have been experiencing some graphics issues while running certain programs on Windows 7. When I checked I discovered that the graphics card used by my iMac isn't being used by Windows 7.. instead it's using Parallels virtual adaptor - Generic non-pnp monitor.

Do I have to install the drivers myself or is this normal?

    Thanks

You only need to install drivers if you're booting the Mac into Windows using Boot Camp. In that case, you would use the Boot Camp drivers but you can also get the latest drivers from AMD for Radeon graphics or NVidia for NVidia graphics.

When you use a virtual machine, the hardware is virtual hardware which is not the same hardware as your Mac. The Parallels Tools contains drivers for the Parallels virtual hardware.

The virtual graphics is configured in Virtual Machine -> Configure -> Hardware -> Video. This allows only up to 256 MB of VRAM. You can try changing the Enable 3D Acceleration option and the Enable vertical synchronization option.
