Hello Parallelers, <> As diehard Linux users know, you can't work productively without a good deal of eyecandy. For me that means I got to get a handsome theme, the drop shadow (very important) and the rotating cube - at least.</> I use Parallels Desktop for Mac 5 (build 9370) and installed Ubuntu 10.04 as a guest. I got Parallels Tools working. But "desktop effects could not be enabled" after "looking for available drivers". I gave the Cube a try, but nothing there as well (no warning dialogs). Did somebody manage to get the eycandy working?
I did find out how to apply the drop shadow (that makes a difference). For anyone who can't get his work done on a flat desktop: open the Configuration Editor, find the key /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager and enable it.
