My computer has been sticky lately. Today, when I was trying to move my VM list window, I accidentally grabbed my VM and dropped it off this list... which pretty much seems as if I deleted my entire VM. When I try to load parallels it asks me to re-install the Windows XP disc, which my network guy won't let me have. It popped up a message saying that if I right clicked in the VM list, and clicked configure, I could reinstall XP on my machine... but when I do, it still asks me for the install disc. My time machine has not been backing up, so I can't just revert to my old state. When I check the trash it doesn't show up there. Have I deleted XP from my machine? Is there any way to get it back without having to reinstall the entire system? I'm also afraid that when I tried to load it again, I overwrote my new parallels upgrade (which my boss owuld not let me buy the disc for and insisted I just get a download of the upgrade) reverting back to 3.0.
Was able to do some magic Using the instrutions on this page: http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=101089&highlight=virtual+machine+list not everything is perfect yet, but my parallels 5 is still installed, and my VM is working. Now to get the time machine functioning
