Last night I installed the pushed security updates 2006-08 (universal) and 2007-01 for OS X. After rebooting, XP has no network connectivity. Checking the Apple Network Prefs, none of the network adapters for parallels are active - all are listed, but all have red dots, and say "computer does not have IP address". Going into the adapter details, I can't force a DHCP renewal.

The only thing that changed on my machine was the installation of the security updates and the reboot.

Anyone else seeing this, and has anyone solved the issue?

    Thanks

I had the same problem, I switched my VM's networking from NAT to bridged and it is working again.

If you're having problems, may I suggest that you repair your permissions in your disk utility.

I had a bit of a problem Saturday morning. However after I repaired my permissions I had absolutely no problems.

    fix?

I'm having network problems using the adapter in bridged mode also. I have repaired disk permisions but it didn't help. Did anyone find a way to fix this?

    Thanks

    No problems with update

it must be something specific to your computer

Exact same thing happened to me. I fixed it by:

    1) Repair disk permissions (just to be safe)
    2) Reinstall Parallels (I'm using build 1970) - this is the key step as I believe the kernel extensions got out of whack (grumble ... parallels should use launchd ;)
