I'm running P5 build 9344 under Mac OS X 10.6.3 on a MacBook Pro with 3gb RAM. I have a Windows XP VM whose performance I'm quite satisfied with. Recently I installed Win 7 (which I acquired via Microsoft Academic Alliance). The Win 7 VM is much, much, much slower (like an old Virtual PC under System 9) than the Win XP one. I haven't been able to find any differences in the installation parameters. Can anyone advise on what I should be doing, or looking for, to get the Win 7 performance to resemble the Win XP performance?

Only info I've found from Parallels is here, which isn't very helpful.

Would welcome advice on which settings result in best performance.

I find limiting to one processor, 1 or 2Gb ram (I have 4 on board), enable adaptive Hypervisor, enable auto compress, enable tune windows for speed, Optimise for VM, Power Consumption Better Performance works best for me. I have a 13" MBP. Windows 7 vms run way faster than the XP on my machine.
