I have recently moved from a MacBook to a MacBook Pro. I'm using OS X 10.6.3, 4GB RAM on the Mac. I moved all of my information by means of Migration Assistant, and it seemed to go very well. However, I have now discovered that one piece of software I use (Electric Quilt 6) in Windows/Parallels will function but with limitations. I have reinstalled that software with no improvement, as well as reinstalling Parallels Tools and am wondering if there's something else you'd recommend doing. I'm using Parallels 5 (9344), with 768MB assigned to it.

If I should end up having to reinstall Windows, will I lose everything I now have installed? If I reinstall Parallels, will my Windows installation disappear?

    Thanks.

Did your upgrade move from Snow Leopard (on Macbook) to Snow Leopard (on the MPB)? I just stepped from Tiger to S/Leopard on our White iMac and a few things were unhappy I found. I used Time Machine rather than MA.

Reinstalling Windows will make you lose everything but reinstalling Parallels will not touch your virtual machine.

Thank you for your reply, Chilbear. I was using Snow (10.6.3) on both the MB and on the MBP. I'm glad to hear that reinstalling Parallels won't hurt the Windows installation, and I'm hoping it won't come to that. ;)

    Thanks again.
