I already have parallel desktop on my imac and just love it....

Now I will be getting the MBP 15" i5 with 4gb of ram. However, I will install a 4gb of ram bring it to 6gb of ram
I am wondering if I should allocate 1gb or 2gb to win7 VM? I will be using win7 for downloading programs and office, and photoshop.

On my imac I have 8gb of memory so allocating 2gb to win7 was not a problem, but with the laptop i don't know if 1gb will be fine.

You could start with 2. The beauty of virtual machines is that if you're not happy you can change the VM's "hardware" with the click of a button. Just shut the VM down (keep Parallels running), make your changes, restart the VM - and you're done. Good luck!
