I have been a user of Parallels (v4.00) for about a year now and everything was running smoothly. Then one day I rebooted the VM and I got "Error Loading Operating System" in the BIOS. Various posts and threads pointed at a corrupt PVM or HDD which would duly not load in the Parallels mounter.

My question is that for this 127 GB disk is there any other way of recovering some of the files in there or am I out of luck

    Thanks

When you changed the boot order in the bios, did you save the setting? When you boot from the cd do you get the press any key to boot from cd message?

I am not aware that I changed the boot order. All I did was reboot the VM (which is a windows installation) and got the error message when it starts up again.

The only thing that was different to normal is that prior to the reboot I had a USB drive plugged into the mac mini and usable from the VM.

Technical information was submitted in a problem report (id: 5422157) if that helps
