    Hi!
I have: Mac OS Leopard as the main and Windows XP as the VM and i had Parallels 3
I try to upgrade from 3 to 5
Install 5 was ok but when i try to upgrade VM i get a problem. After starting upgrade Parallel Tools on step2 the process is freeze. The indecator of upgrade stay freeze (near 50% of all distance) and i wait 6 hours but nothing happend. BUT! after i push manual upgrade of Tools and Windows start to reload i get message: "Windows could not start because the follow file is missing or currupt:......../system32/ntoskrnl.exe"

    1.How can i make 100% upgrade
    2.Where can i finde ntoskrnl.exe
3What is real root of Windows folders? Maybe i try to put this file

PS I have send info about my problem via Help->Send.... and got number - 4879968

    Thanks!

    Max

whoooo... it sounds like something got really messed up... I know this isn't particularly good advice but can you re-install Windows and start over?

    Hm...
    I think i have only 3 ways:
1.Get some feedback from parellels company....i'm waiting
2.Get back my info via Time Machine and reinstall Parallels3
2.1.After that backup my info, kill all VM and try to upgrade from 3 to 5 and install Windows again
    3.Dont use Parallels 5 (hmmmm)

I hope that company give me some free help :)

I think I found the cause

I clicked through on one of the VMs (clicked on the little lock icon to drop me into "Manual" mode). Turns out there was a dialog blocking things- clicked the necessary bits to get that to disappear and everything continued. It would be nice if that window wasn't a full block, but just a transparent overlay so this would be more obvious.
