Hi, I followed the instructions on http://kb.parallels.com/en/5733 for preparing an existing VM for the use by multiple users on one mac. I prepared the VM on "my" account and I was able to start it there. If I quit the VM (by shuting down first and then quitting parallels), and log in as a different user to my mac, I can open the VM, but getting the message, the vm could not be used because its files were corrupted. If I choose "Remove", the VM will be removed from the list of vm's and I can open it by clicking on it's icon. But than, I will be aked about a duplicate MAC. This happens ALL THE TIME, if I try to access the VM by a user different to the one which was using it the last time. Any ideas? I am using parallels 4.0.4838 Thanks dirk
What happens if you move your VM package (xxxxxxx.pvs) to a multiuser location such as users/for all users? Another idea is that the file permissions on your Mac need repairing - use the hard disk utility in applications / utilities for that.
This IS allready the location of this VM. This shouldn't be neccassary for a brand new file - but I did it and nothing changed... Ciao dirk
