Everything was fine running XP with Parallels 5 on my iMac (10.6.3), until one day when starting, I saw something unusual: Rather than the typical large dark gary window with the shadowy Windows XP text to click on to start, I saw a small, rectangular silver dialog box with Windows XP in the middle. I tried to move the box over to another area of the screen, and by mistake, dragged the Windows XP area/icon out of the box and it was deleted with a puff (like removing an item from the dock). After this, whenever I start Parallels, it asks for the machine location or install a new one. What happened? Is there a way to re-locating my virtual machine? Thanks. Steve
The VM files should be in a package inside the Parallels folder in your Document folder. The package should be called something like "Windows XP.pvm". If you have that, double click on it.
