    Hi.

I am trying to install Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit edition using parallels 5 onto my imac.
    Mac info:
    Mac OSX 10.6.2
Processor 2.8 GHz Intel quad core i7
    Memory 8GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    2Hard Drive 2 TB

However I am having some problems doing this.

Windows starts set up. I accept terms and go for the custom option, install new copy of windows.

I install the disk in the default option offered, Disk O unallocated space 64GB.

Set up installs windows files successfully (green tick shows).

When Expanding windows files, the indicator stays on 0% for a few minutes and then an error message is displayed:

The installation was cancelled Windows cannot install required files. The file maybe corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x 80070017

I have repeated the process three times with the same results.

I also tried using the Parallels set up without interacting with windows and the same error message appeared at the Expanding windows file set up point.

Hope you can assist me as to where I am going wrong.

    Kind regards,

    Mark

You're saying that you are going for the "Custom" Windows 7 install option in the Windows 7 installer. What are the other options?
