I installed Windows XP with Parrallels on a Mac. However, I cannot do much with Windows (downloads files, software, etc.) because of low memory. What can I do to increase memory for Windows? Please advice.
Dear jleon is "Windows XP: Low Disck Space Issue"? or is "because of low memory. What can I do to increase memory for Windows?" ??? or are you getting low virtual memory error message?? ...
I'm not sure what you mean. Allow me to explain: I increased the in hard disk memory in the virtual machine to 40GB from the pre-configured 8GB. The "Low Disk Space" message is comming from Windows itself. For example, it does not allow me to add a favorite to Internet Explorer even though I allocated 40GB. In fact, I cannot do anything on Windows (no software download, no transfer of files) because of the low disk space message. There must to config change in Windows that I'm missing. I appreciate your support on this.
Dear jleon ok.. you increased your guest os (window xp?) hard drive space from 8Gb to 40 Gb. if possible from window side, double click on the Mycomputer and right click on the C drive and select property. there should be a pie chart showing you the disk space information. used space is shown in blue. also, look at the capacity line and see if it says 40Gb.. You increased your hard disk size but not your windows partition size. Search for DISKPART for solution on this forum.
This really doesn't belong in this thread, and has been answered many times in other threads -- search for right click. The answer depends on which Mac model, which you neglected to specify, but the best way is to get a two button mouse and click the right button. There are other solutions depending on your Mac model. If you need to ask again after a search, please start a new thread or add to one of the right click threads.
