I started messing around with Crystal and Coherence mode. I usually put my VM in a separate SPACE full screen and use it from there. Always worked fine but I figured I would give this integrated stuff a try.

The idea is cool except that moving the window around on a WINDOWS application is unusably slow. It causes grey shadows, window redraws, not smooth at all. Moving windows around at the same time with a MAC application is perfect. Smooth, no screen redrawing or anything.

I have a wicked powerful machine. 27" i7 iMAC with 512MB video memory of which the max of 256MB is given to the VM. The Windows 7 VM has 3GB of RAM associated with it. This is running the latest version of Parallels 5 with all updates.

Is there a way to make this better? If this is the best it's going to be then these integration features, while cool, aren't very useful.

Any ideas? Any tweaks to make this better?

    Thanks for your help!

Try turning of Aero and shadows on Windows windows in Coherence / Crystal.
