I recently installed ACT! 2010 to run in Windows 7 on Parallels 5. I am using Mac os x 10.5.8. For the most part, everything is running fine, with the exception of setting a few prefs. When I attempt to change the Startup Prefs in ACT!, I receive the following message: "The folder you specified does not exist. Create it?" I answer 'yes'. Then this error message shows up: "The given path's format is not supported." I have already changed my Parallels prefs to remove all sharing between Mac and Windows 7. That took care of some previous problems, but this one still hangs on. Any suggestions?
Hi Jackie M, please make sure to disable Shared Profile in virtual machine's configuration (Options tab). Please let me know if the issue still persist.
Hi Jackie M, may be you can specify some certains settings in Startup Preferences that fail? I have installed application in my test environment (Shared Profile disabled) and it does not give any error messages, when I change startup preferences.
Thanks. Here's everything... VIRTUAL MACHINE menu - CONFIGURE - OPTIONS tab Shared Folders: Share these Mac folders - NONE Shared Profile: Enable Shared Profile - UNchecked Shared Applications: Share windows apps w/ Mac OS X - UNchecked Share Mac OS X apps with Windows - UNchecked The only prefs that come up with this error are under the 'Startup' tab. All other prefs work fine.
Hi Jackie M, I mean Startup Preferences in ACT! 2010. According to your first posting, you receive "The folder you specified does not exist. Create it?" message when you Startup Prefs in ACT! 2010. To edit them in ACT! 2010, I navigate to Tools > Preferences... Startup tab, and no matter what settings I change, there are no error messages. Please give step-by-step instruction how to reproduce the issue. You can also try to reinstall ACT! 2010 on virtual machine where Shared Profile is disabled.
