When i start PD5 9344 my system SNOW become VERY SLOW, from first build i try (9220)

    My report ID is 4208404

From the beginning (build 9220) until now (build 9344), when i open a parallels desktop virtual machine my system become VERY VERY SLOW...

Spaces change screen in 3-4 seconds, when i click on the dock it' all slow... i wanna cry!!!

    My actual configuration: iMac 24' (8,1) - 2.80 GHz - 4 GB RAM

The memory assigned to parallels is set to "AUTOMATIC", and my virtual machines (1 XP and 1 WINDOWS 7) have 1280 MB and 1 CPU, and 256 MB of Video Memory...

    What can i try?
Uninstall (totally, from the PD installer?) and re-install PD5 ? Delete the preferences (wich ones ?!? and where are they?!?)
I try to put XP Virtual Disk on external disk (FireWire 800), but no results... Can i "officialy and legally" downgrade to PD 4? i read someone have gained speed with the previus version...

Just to see what will happen, try this:
_Reduce the amount of video memory to 128 MB
_Reduce the amount of VM memory to 1024
_Assign only one (virtual) processor to the VM
... Quit Parallels, reboot your Mac, restart Parallels and run it in Full Screen (definitely not in Coherence / Crystal). Oh, and if you could post whether that's changed the responsiveness of your Mac...?

    So...

I try all in WIN 7, and i uncheck the 3D acceleration (so AERO doesn't work).
I normally use the windows view (not FULL SCREEN), it's egual?
    1024 MB it's OK for WIN 7 ?

Keep the 3D on but reduce vid memory to 128 MB - this way, you'll keep Aero. With a 4 Gig machine you should be fine with 1024 MB of memory for your VM. My impression is that the VM runs a tad slower in windowed view than when it runs in full screen view, but really only marginally so.
The main point is to try and reduce the amount of memory that your VM will grab from the Mac as much as possible while retaining a pleasant Windows experience. I'm running a Windows 7 VM with 128 MB of vid memory (3D on) and 832 MB of main memory in the VM and it works just fine; in particular I have no slowdowns switching between Mac and Windows, and I can work just fine in the Mac with these settings while the VM is running.
