When I try to install Parallels Internet Security, I get an error message stating: "Attention! Some incompatible software is installed on your computer. The applicaitons cannot be used together with Parallels internet security by Kaspersky. In order to proceed with installation, please remove these applications." I have uninstalled all previously installed virus protection software (McAfee, etc) and even checked the registry for leftovers, but nothing I do works. BTW, I am still using Parallels under a demo license. Does that matter? Thanks in advance for any advice.
Same problem, can't install Kaspersky I have the same problem. I have uninstalled the previous Kaspersky but when I try to install the current version, it always fails. The files download and the I get the message: "Attention! Some incompatible software is installed on your computer. The applicaitons cannot be used together with Parallels internet security by Kaspersky. In order to proceed with installation, please remove these applications." The installer then closes. No files are listed so I have no idea what might be the offending application. We really need a reply!
Cannot uninstall old Kaspersky In my previous message I commented the there seemed to be "incompatible software" on my machine preventing the installation of Kaspersky. Now I see that the main problem is that when I use the control panel to delete the old copy of Kaspersky, it fails to delete and gives an: "Error 1316.A Network error while attempting to read from file C\ WINDOWS\Installer\pis_setup.msi" I cannot find any information on this file. I tried running the Windows Installer cleanup utility, msicuu2, but that did not help. I have been reading another thread, Kaspersky problems after upgrade to Parallels 5. There is some mention of similar problems but no fix works.
Hi James, please try to uninstall Kaspersky using this KB: http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208279463 Use 'kavremover10 kis2009' command when GUI did not find any entries of Kaspersky. Restart Windows and try to install PIS again.
Finally all is well This was not a pretty solution but it worked. I hope these kinds of problems are fixed by the time of the next update.
