Boot Camp 3.1 -but still no Win7 VM start possible! Only MacDrive solution available?

    Hi all!

Win7 64-bit works native under Boot Camp 3.1 on my iMac 27" i7 like a charme - absolutely no problems.

But after installing Parallels 5.0 ( still build 9308 because german is not available with 9310 ) using the Boot Camp partition the start of the VM "Boot Camp" on my Mac stopped in step 1 of 4 - automatically tries to repair the installation - but stopped finally with a message saying the repair failed.

Any solution available on that ??

    Cheers
    Gregor

EDIT : I found on several posts a solution : Install MacDrive - but it´s not free of charge - no other solution available ?

Who must solve the mistake ? Parallels or Apple??

    .

I finally succeeded. I contacted tech support and they (Bopanna to give credit where it is due) sent me the following procedure:
    - Delete all the .pvm files created by going to /Documents/Parallels.
    - Then boot natively to bootcamp by restarting Mac and booting into Windows.
    - Perform a check disk of the Windows partition.

You will be able to perform a check disk by going through these steps:

    - Start Windows.
    - Click on Start -> Type in as CMD and press enter.
    - Then in the command prompt, press chkdsk /r C:
    - It will ask for the confirmation to do it with the next restart of the system.
    - Please press 'Yes' or 'y' and restart Windows again.

Then perform the check disk and reboot the system to Mac.

Then try to create a new virtual machine by following these steps:

The chkdsk ran for 6 hours. But when I created the new VM and let that set up it worked. No more having 2 Win 7 installations.

    @jreihsen

Thank you - but some text is missing in your post ( after " ... Then try to create a new virtual machine by these steps :" ).

    Please send again - thx.

Windows 7 and Boot Camp not working in Parallels

Windows 7 works great in Boot Camp. However, when I attempt to start Widows 7 via Parallels, I get a message requiring manual configuration and Windows attempts a start-up repair. I can't get past this point.

    Help! and thanks!
