Hi, In the last couple of days, if I run WinXP in the background and work on other stuff in the Mac the processor will start to speed up and my MacBook Pro (Leopard) will get hot. I won't be doing anything other than surfing the web. I've gone through WinXP and made sure to disable unused services and startup items, so there won't be much of anything running on it. I've ctrl-alt-deleted and no process is using much processor time (other than Explorer.exe). However, in the Mac OS, using top, I've seen that navx is using 80-99% of the processor at any given time. I'm not downloading files or anything, and I don't THINK I'm running a scan. But my computer becomes much less responsive. This didn't happen using parallels 4. In fact, I upgraded to 5, saw these problems, uninstalled it, reinstalled 4, saw no problems, uninstalled it, then installed 5 fresh. Colin
Hi ColinM, it looks like Norton Antivirus on Mac OS X side causes high CPU usage. Please check the behaviour with disabled antivirus; try to check antivirus settings.
I had the same problem. At the moment, my only workaround is to open the 'Activity Monitor' utility, double click on the navx program, and force quit it. This will disable it for the time being, when I find out a way to permanently stop it scanning, I'll let you know.
