Hello, I gave Parallels 5 a try. I have the following keyboard issues (running XP(bootcamp) inside parallels on 10.5.8, in window-mode): - control-click in explorer not working (to drag-and-drop as a 'move' or a 'copy'). Control-A is working in NotePad though. - on Mac I mapped Alt-Tab to launch quicksilver. If I am in XP the shortcut does not work. - on Mac I can switch between applications with Cmd-Tab. It does not work if I am inside XP.
- on Mac I mapped Alt-Tab to launch quicksilver. If I am in XP the shortcut does not work. - on Mac I can switch between applications with Cmd-Tab. It does not work if I am inside XP. This is because you're inside XP, not in the Mac. To switch programs in Windows, use alt-tab.
I would like the following feature: - When in XP, I can still use Cmd-Tab to switch between Mac applications. At the moment this does not work.
If I understand correctly you want to use cmd-tab to switch between XP applications, same as switching between Mac applications. To do so, you need to open the Parallels Desktop preferences (not the VM preferences) and choose the keyboard / mouse pane. There, you need to check "activate OS X system shortcuts" (not sure of the wording as I'm on a German version of Parallels). In the key mapping list above that checkbox, scroll down until you see the line where CMD is mapped to the WIN key. Uncheck that mapping. Hit "OK" at the bottom of the preferences panel and you should be all set. Mind, you will no longer have access to the Win key (which of course doesn't exist on a Mac keyboard which is why it needs to be mapped - if you need that key).
