I just bought PD5 and upgraded PD4 to PD5 successfully. And now I need to upgrade my virtual XP parallel desktop to Windows 7 64 bits. The problem is my XP is 32 bits so I cannot click the setup.exe from my virtual XP explorer. The installation asks me to reboot and have a fresh installation. So I did the following:

    1. Create new virtual and PD5 try to install windows 5.
    2. When the setup asks for product activation key, I tried to put in my windows 7 product key but setup rejects it since my windows 7 DVD is for upgrade version not a full version. So I left the production key blank and install windows 7 as trial product.

    1. How can I activate this virtual windows 7?
    2. Or How can I upgrade my parallel windows 32 bit XP to windows 7 64 bits.

Has anyone run into this problem before?

    Please help.

    Ok, I found out how.

    1. Right click on the XP virutual and change the boot order in order for PD5 to boot from CD/DVD.
    2. Change settings so that memory is 2 GB and Video Memory is 256M

Windows 7 will upgrade the XP virtual to Windows 7 and accept the Product keys.
