I have read several threads on here suggesting there are issues with some Garmin GPS models and Parallels in terms of being able to connect via USB and transfer data. I never had an issue transferring data between my MacBook (v2.1) and GPSmap 60CSx using Mapsource with Parallels. However, I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro (v5.4), booted from Time Machine and now am experiencing the same issues I have read about on the forums. Any thoughts and/or suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Hello,

    Please perform below steps:

    1. Uninstall parallels tools on Windows side from add or remove programs(start menu/control panel).

    2. After windows restarts, install parallels tools from virtual machine tab on top menu bar.

Once the parallels tools are installed, please do the below steps:

    1. Disconnect the GPS device from the Mac if it is already connected. Shutdown the virtual machine if it is already running.

    2. Open Parallels Desktop but do not start the virtual machine.

    3. Select Configure on virtual machine screen, and check if the USB controller exists, if not, then add it b"+" sign which is at left bottom and click OK.

    4. Click on Parallels Desktop tab, select Preferences, select USB and choose "Connect to guest OS" from the USB Connection Options drop down menu.

    5. Start the virtual machine.

    6. Once the virtual machine loads, the Parallels Tools initialize, and all booting and login activity complete, connect the Garmin GPS device to the Mac via a USB cable.

    7. Wait as the Garmin GPS device saves all waypoints, routes, and trip log information to GPX format.

    8. Windows will prompt you with an Autoplay dialogue if the configuration is proper. Otherwise, you will see the same error message as before.

    Please reply the status,

    Thank you.
