I'm trying to delete some files from my guest OS(Windows XP), so that I can run Flash faster. Every time I delete a file that is on my guest OS, I notice that it has also been deleted from my host OS(Mac OSX). I only want to delete this files from the guest and keep them on my host. Is there a way to do this? I partitioned about 60GB to my Windows XP...should I have partitioned more since I'm creating animations in Flash? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Robert
Hi, This feature is called Shared Profile. You can switch it off in the VM configuration -> Options -> Shared Profile Please read Parallels Desktop User's Guide for details about Shared Profile feature. Alexander
I know about configuring the shared folder. Sorry I was not being very clear before. Here is my problem. Outside of the folders I specify that I want to appear in the Parallels shared folders, quite a number of random folders on my Mac OSX desktop are appearing on my Windows XP desktops as well. I did not specify that I wanted these programs on my Windows XP...so why are they showing up at all? Also, when I say drag a folder that I don't need on my Windows XP desktop to the recycle bin...it deletes the file from my Mac OSX desktop!? Which is the exact opposite of what I was trying to do. It is like Parallels is eating some of my desktops folders. I don't want to lose important stuff. Could anyone please explain why this is happening?
