New iMac with Snow Leopard with latest Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac installed running Windows 7. 4GB iMac, 2GB allocated to Windows VM. VM allocated one processor only...

Everything is fabulous when I first start the Windows VM. After awhile (e.g., 1/2 hour) the Windows VM rapidly becomes almost completely unresponsive doing even the most simple thing. When I observe the processes in the MAC Activity Monitor the VM process is consuming ~100% of the one CPU. I have to shutdown and restart the Windows VM to get reasonable performance again.

    Any suggestions?

    Recommend removing Kapersky

I had similar performance problems and numerous application crashes causing unresponsiveness and forcing a reboot. I found another thread recommending that you should uninstall the Parallels Internet Security Suite, and I did. Since uninstalling, it has worked flawlessly.

This appears to be a big problem with Win 7 Guest OS and Parallels 5.

I have since learned that this is only a problem on iMac i7 Intel Processors running Parallels Internet Security (Kapersky).

I have the security suite installed (I didn't explicitl install it...I think it was installed when I installed parallel tools) but I don't see any options for how to uninstall it. Any clues?
