Aero never happened in after installing PT in Vista.. even restarting VM didn't help, yet when i closed PD, then re-opened, Aero was there.

No hardware change... all I did was increase cpu from 1 to 2, but i that wouldn't have done it..

    Any clues?

BTW. why do posts take time to display online after submitting?

(Disregard other post.. My usual banter)

    Hi Techhead156,
do you mean you cannot disable Aero on latest 9308 build?

I guess it's the updated tools (and in particular the updated graphics card driver) that happened here.

    Aero

    No..

What I mean is I couldn't get Aero after installing PT. Shutting down the VM, and restarting fixed this issue ... All i'm wondering is why this happened?

No hardware change had occurred. nor config changes in PD

    Hi Techhead156,
VM restart is basically required after installing Parallels Tools for driver changes, so it seems like a normal behaviour.

Yes, that's what happened here when I updated P5. I guess they changed the virtual Graphics card; when you then first start the VM, you won't get Aero until you've installed the updated tools (which bring a new driver) and restarted. Don't worry, it sounds as if the system's behaving as it should.

Parallels team, you may want to announce such behaviour in the release notes so user's aren't surprised as they're updating.

I should have been more clear. I know a restart is normal after installing PT, but even this didn't help. It wasan't until I shut down Parallels alltogether, and reopened, only then it was ok.

This was a fresh install of PD 5 build 9308, not an upgrade.
