Yes, I know coherence mode is a nice feature of Parallels desktop, but I don't need it and I never use it. Worse, after upgrading to v.4.0.3848 Parallels slips into coherence mode from time to time and I find this very annoying!

Is there a way to disable coherence mode alltogether?

    Thanks,

I keep the relevant service turned off in Windows.

You turned Coherence Mode off in Windows? How? Could you explain it to me?

In Windows: Start > type "msconfig" > wait till you're shown the program "msconfig" > open that > tab "services" > check "hide all microsoft services" > uncheck the "Parallels Coherence Service" > hit "OK" > restart. Now the Parallels Coherence Service will not be loaded when you boot Windows.

At least this is how it works in Parallels 5. Good luck.
