Hi All - I'm new here so go easy on me.... Installed Parallels and Windows XP Was able to install Quicken Cash Book and all works OK Now am not able to install anything else. Whenever I try I get this message: The windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running windows in safe mode or if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance. Any ideas where I'm going wrong. Obviously it worked once - why can't I install any other software.

Thanks I-che. Did try both sites and had no luck. The Microsoft site suggested changes to registry which I ensured that it was correct, but still not working. Any other suggestions?
I am new too, but I just installel Paralels on an iMac with i7 and Win 7 Guest OS. With Quicken, i had to try the install 3 times, and each time, it went a little further in the install. This final time, it showed that the install had failed, but the application was actually fully loaded. With Turbo Tax, Itried to install, and it failed each time. I finally found the install files in the temp directory and ran the install as adminitrator three times, and on the third try it worked. Each time it attempts, it appears to be looking for new directories...it has created them, but it can't find them on that install attempt, on the subsequent try, it gets a little further. I have been having nearly continuous crashes of my applications...Quicken and MS throught operations. I found a post that suggested uninstalling Kapersky, and since I did that, I have yet to experience a crash. Not sure if the Kapersky was causing problems with the installs as I dare not attempt to re-install after the harrowing attempts I just went through, but I know that turning it off has eliminated the application crashes I have been experiencing. Good luck
