Trying this again since I didn't get any responses a couple weeks ago, and the problem is really bothersome:

When I suspend (pause) my Parallels session of XP, everything seems to go ok UNTIL I resume (press "play"). The Windows desktop appears, and then the VM bluescreens with some IRQ_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL message (I think I got that right).

This happens on both versions I've tried (1970 and Beta2).

Anyone have any advice as to how to troubleshoot this?

    Same issue with Win2K

I wish I had an answer. I've got the same issue with Win2K. BSOD any time I resume a suspended session. Works fine from a cold boot. Luckily, this is a secondary Windows instance for me. I primarily use XP and I have no such problems with it. The problem did not improve when I went from Beta 2 to Beta 3.

The Win2k VM was brought in with Transporter from a ThinkPad. Once in, I uninstalled a number of applications and had been having some problems with my CDROM driver, but I think I cleared that up before transporting.

I'm assuming it's some sort of driver issue or other configuration problem within Windows, but I have had no luck debugging it. Curious though that it's only on a resume.

My image was from a Thinkpad too!

You might be onto something there - my image was brought in via Transporter from a Thinkpad T42.

Hey Parallels devs - any chance you can troubleshoot this one?

    same symptoms, no transporter

I have a clean install of XP and get the BSOD every time I resume the VM. I did not experience this with the 1970 build. I'm currently still seeing this (BSOD with error of IRQ_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL) with 3120.

That's the error message! I think both of you are getting the same thing I am.

has anyone mailed the [email protected] address with this ? They did ask for bug reports to go there.. Will probably reach the correct people concerned, faster than posting here.

I did, over a week ago - no response. Not even an acknowledgement that they received the email. I also IMed one of the staff members who hangs out on the forums about 2 weeks ago. No reply there either.

I installed XP from scratch and the VM now pauses correctly. Parallels devs - this points to a possible issue with Thinkpad imports or transporter.

I'm disappointed that neither my PM to a Parallels developer nor an email to beta@ was acknowledged. I'm not confident that further problems will be addressed, which generates concern about the future of this product - I know from prior experience, for example, that VMWare's technical and customer support staffs are more responsive. The ability to receive support during problems is what differentiates quality products from also-rans.
