I've had an extremely frustrating time printing to an Epson Workforce 30 since upgrading to Snow Leopard. Every print job simply spits out blank pages. I have no problem printing to my Brother laser. I've decided that the problem is due to the fact that instead of writing native drivers for Snow Leopard, Epson requires you to install Rosetta in order to continue using their printers on a Mac. Apparently, Parallels doesn't play well with Rosetta and Epson drivers. I've searched all over the Internet for a solution; I've re-installed the printer through Bonjour many times (and don't suggest the other methods - they just plain suck). At this point I've given up. I blame Epson, not Parallels. Can anyone confirm this problem? Has anyone found the magic bullet?
    Thanks, Jim

    Jim,

This printer appear to have USB interface. Have you tried attaching it directly to VM and installing drivers in Windows?

    I think this will work

Yes, I tried this and it works IF I go to the little USB icon and connect the printer each time I start the VM. Not a big deal, but it would be nice if that were automatic, as it is with Bonjour. Thanks. Here's a description of the problem from Luminous Landscape: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/essays/woes.shtml . For anyone else experiencing this issue, native drivers should be included in an OS X update soon.
    Regards, Jim

    Hi, Jim.

If would like to automatically connect any of your usb device to some of your virtual machine you can create a record in permanent assignment list. You can do it throw menu - "Parallels Desktop -> Preferences -> USB". When you add entry to "Permanent assignment" list - you can select which usb device where to connect (your mac or any of your virtual machine).

As result, if you have record in permanent assignment list which associate your usb printer with some virtual machine,
this usb device will be automatically connected to this virtual machine if:
    - you start your virtual machine and Parallels Desktop found this usb device connected to your mac now
    - you connect usb printer to your mac and sellected virtual machiche is running now

Thanks for the additional information. I discovered this before that the printer needs to be on when starting the VM. But I have 3 printers and don't keep them on all the time. That's why I like the Bonjour solution. Much more seamless. Am I right in thinking that Bonjour and/or Parallels and Rosetta don't get along?
