Today the fans on my MB Pro are periodically going crazy for no apparent reason.

When I opened Activity Monitor to check if something was hogging CPU power, the culprit is something called prl_vm_app, which was using 90-105% CPU. It obviously has something to do with the VM, but I have no special Windows apps open - the VM is just running quietly in the background, but this is still happening.

Anyone have any idea what is causing this, and what prl_vm_app is?

My CPU is girinding to a halt

Any solution to this problem yet? I'm running 5.0 with Win7, It functions perfectly for a few minutes and slowly decreases in speed till the whole machine becomes unresponsive. The activity monitor shows CPU at 100%. prl-vm-app seems to be the culprit.

I am also having fan problems on my Macbook Pro. As soon as I open my Windows 7 the fans go screaming crazy.
