I have sucessfully installed version 5.0 of Parallels Desktop following the instructions posted online by your support team using Windows XP Professional as my guest OS. However, following your online instructions, I entered one processor in the virtual machine configuration menu despite having a dual core processor in my Mac. Your instructions called for entering only one processor for a successful install & then going back to enter 2 processors for your dual core once you have successfully installed Parallels Tools. Unfortunately, when attempting to do this, I find that the entry dialog in the configuration pane is now greyed out so it is not possible to change my entry of one processor to two.

Your help file does state that the maximum # of processors is set by the program. Is it possible that only one processor is allowed for the virtual machine even though you are using a dual core processor in your Mac? Please let me know if there is a work around for my problem and/or there would be anything gained by changing my entry of one processor to two in your virtual machine configuration dialog to support my Mac dual core processor. Thanks.

    michaelxjw,

seems to be your virtual machine is running at the moment you are trying to change it's config. Try to stop it first and let me know if it helps. Thanks.
