I just upgraded from VMWare Fusion 3 to Parallels 5 by importing my fully functional Fusion VM of XP SP2. Without fail, every time I try to logout or restart the VM in P5 I get a dialog box with something about prl_cc.exe not responding. The system at that point is SLOOOOW. I see a dialog box saying "logging off" and after a very long time I also get another dialog box saying "Synchronizing" (Home on .psf is apparently being synchronized, but no idea what that means).

I tried running 'Cleanup Kernel Extensions' and restarting - no change.
    I tried deleting:
    CopyPasteTool.dll file (it is in "C:\Program Files\Parallels\Parallels Tools\Plugins" on 32-bit Windows
    but also no change.

All I did was import my VM and try to use it. Broken right out of the box :-(.
Please - if you have any assistance to offer I'm here - all stuck and waiting.

I just posted this in a related thread:

So I completely uninstalled Parallels using the uninstaller. It was a little scary because even the uninstaller hung for quite a while trying to suspend someone process, but it eventually did uninstall. I then rebooted my Mac (MacBook Pro running 10.6.1) and reinstalled Parallels and the tools into the original VM. That did the trick and I'm up and working! Sounds like the software is still version X.0 caliber...

    Please, provide following information:
    1. Problem report number (to send problem report: Help -> Report a Problem...). Don't forget to post its number here
    2. C:\Windows\Temp\parallels.log file
Without that information it will be hard to help you.

The best time to make problem report in your case is when Windows showing "prl_cc.exe not responding" dialog.
