    Hi,

I just downloaded and installed Windows 7 and Parallels 5. Unfortunately, one of my main reasons for doing this was to be able to use the virtual pc images Microsoft makes available to test different versions of IE.

When I launch Windows Virtual PC, though, it reports that my computer doesn't have hardware-assisted virtualization and therefore can't run Windows Virtual PC (and Virtual PC 2007 isn't compatible with Windows 7).

I looked on intel's site and it says that the processor in my macbook pro (1.83 ghz T2400) does support VT, though. I've read and read and can't figure out how to get this working. Is it a problem of trying to do virtualization on top of virtualization? Do I need to enable this somewhere? I'm at a loss.

    Thanks,
    Trey

I think it's an issue of virtualization on top of virtualization. Fusion 3 puts out a similar error, even when it is set to use hardware-assisted virtualization. Boot Camp seems to be the only solution for using XP Mode in Windows 7. Alternatively, perhaps try Parallels for Windows.
