Launching in "Safe Mode" is darn near impossible with VMs. Making sure the loading window has focus. Holding down Fn-F8 at exactly the right time. Dont' know if it is possible, but is there a way to "Restart in Safe Mode" when you are running a Windows session? That would be especially good for VM use.
Good old Google! So don't you think this would be a great idea to add as a menu item if you do have a custom menu? Add Shut Down and a Safe Mode boot? It is a simple addition/removal from an INI file: To use the System Configuration Utility method * Close all open programs. * Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG in the box and click OK * The System Configuration Utility appears, On the BOOT.INI tab, Check the "/SAFEBOOT" option, and then click OK and Restart your computer when prompted. * The computer restarts in Safe mode. * Perform the troubleshooting steps for which you are using Safe Mode. When you are finished with troubleshooting in Safe mode, open MSCONFIG again, on the BOOT.INI tab, uncheck "/SAFEBOOT" and click OK to restart your computer
