    Dear Parallels Support Team-

Can you please provide a solution for stopping parallels from checking every few minutes for an update? I have unchecked the "check for updates" box and I have rebooted. However, this has not stopped the undesired behavior. There are multiple posts on your forums from users with the same problem.

    Thank you,
    PR

    rename the parallelsupdater.app to what?

and, wouldn't it be better to fix this problem definitively?
    thanks,

    Hello Peter Rock,

Rename to any name you like (parallelsupdaterold.app for example)
Yes it will be better and our development team is working on it to fix the issue.

Thank you for patience and understanding.

3846 and this issue is still not addressed?

I just want to add that at some point I upgraded and I can no longer suspend my Windows Guest OS without suffering tremendous performance issues. So, unless I have some serious issue that reportedly gets resolved, I've learned to be quite cautious before trusting any new updates.

Well, I tried the Parallels team member's suggestion--now I get an annoying message every hour or so saying Parallels has to be reinstalled because it can't find the update file.
