After not being able to install Parallels from a disk purchased at Apple I began with a fresh install downloaded from the site. Parallels is now loaded but Windows will not install to a virtual machine. I have the original disk which was successfully used to install Windows to Boot Camp. Installation begins and proceeds normally but running for close to 30 minutes, hangs on installing Start Menu items, displays an error screen and then restart begins all over again. It's a vicious cycle. Any suggestions on what the problem might be? Was hoping to get rid of Boot Camp after installing Windows to Parallels ... but don't want to delete the Windows partition until I'm sure this will work.
Hello DebbiG, Please consider making a .iso image of the CD from the following steps provided: http://kb.parallels.com/en/4917 You can choose this image instead of the real CD when you are prompted. Also take a look in to this article: http://kb.parallels.com/en/6421 Thank you.
