I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard. At the time I had Parallels 4.0.3844 installed, running xp pro. I am constantly prompted to update to the new version of Parallels (4.0.3846); however, the installer abruptly exits before it can install the update. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? Thank you in advance.
Hello Edward, Please follow these steps in regards to the issue: Restart MAC, don’t start any applications. Please follow these steps: 1. Open Finder. 2. Go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utilities. 3. Choose MAC HD. 4. Choose repair disk permissions. After performing the repair disk permissions, restart the computer and try to download parallels once more using the link given below: http://download.parallels.com/deskt...lsDesktop-parallels-en_US-4.0.3846.436204.dmg Then reboot your Mac, and without starting Parallels Desktop open downloaded update package, and follow the installation instructions. Let me know the status of the issue.
Hi, and thanks for your quick response. I did fix the problem - I dragged the dmg file from Downloads to the desktop, and then it installed fine...why didn't I try this before? It is odd, though, that I haven't had the same problem with other installations previously... Ed
Working now... Hi, and thanks for your reply. It working now - I had to drag the dmg file from my kdownloads folder and onto the desktop. Then the install went fine. Ed
