I'm running XAMPP under OS X and doing development work under Windows on the same machine. Currently, to connect to OS X localhost from Windows, I have edited the Windows hosts account to include a pointer from "myosx" to the ip address of the Macintosh on my LAN. This means that calls from Windows to the OS X server have to go through my router. Since I started doing this about 2 weeks ago it seems that my router is going down every few days. Is there a way to connect directly from Windows to the OS X localhost without going through the router? I've tried connecting (in my browser) to the Parallels NAT ip addresses "10.211.55.2" but this doesn't seem to do anything. Thanks!
If you are running Parallels Desktop 4, then, assuming that you are in Shared Networking, 10.211.55.2 should work. If you are in bridged, then using your Mac's IP doesn't go through the router
I'm running version 3. I am using the Default Adapter. I've never been able to get Shared Networking to work. What do you mean by "bridged".
