Hi! I'm using Parallels Desktop 4 on Mac with Ubuntu as guest. I need to run some tests with /proc/net/wireless and therefore need a wireless device in the guest OS. Obviously it doesn't make sense (and it's probably also not available) to model the connection between host and guest as the wireless link, so this would still be an ethernet link. Can the guest OS somehow borrow the host's wireless adapter (AirPort) in order to access the wireless network directly? Since the host system can access the network either through LAN or WLAN, I wouldn't need the AirPort adapter in the host os while it is used in the guest system. I thought I could do this by using bridged networking and choosing the network adapter as AirPort but then the interface in the host OS still appears as a wired eth0 device. Thanks
If I get this right I could use an USB WLAN device and get the dialog box whether to add it to the guest or host system like I get it when I add an external drive or so. I guess that's an acceptable work around, though I can't believe no one else needs this feature?
