I just started getting into PD's features, and last night I saw the View Menu option of Take Snapshot. I screwed up, didn't read the entire list in View Menu, and ended up using Snapshot when I should have read further down and selected Screenshot. My BAD!!!!! LOL My mind had immediately equated Snapshot to be a screenshot, since different vendors sometimes like to use different names for the same features. :)

When I finally figured out where I went wrong, I had already selected a previous snapshot to restore to, and now it appears the restore process is hung. The restore is still running after over 12 hours.

I do not need any of the snaphots I created, so I don't care what happens to the snapshots, I just don't want to lose everything in XP.

Can I do a force quit of Parallels Desktop, then delete all the files in the Snapshot folder, restart Parallels and the XP virtual machine and everything and everybody will be happy? Parallels is not totally locked up, as the Vista virtual machine still runs.

    Snapshot restore problem solved

There's been a lot of views, but no suggestions. :)

I finally sent in an official support request, and the solution was simple.

Force quit Parallels, and reboot the Mac. Apparently that stops the restore process dead in its tracks, and Windows booted normally and I didn't lose a thing.

I thought the readers of this post would like to know.

    Have a great weekend.
