Father-in-law upgraded to Snow Leopard. He was running Parrallels v3.

Attempted to upgrade. Ran into issue with VM running message. Renamed directory to ParallelsV3, etc. Installed fine.

Opened VM and conversion process started. It made it to step 2 of 4 and said we had to manually run the installer from the CD drive. We did this and it asked to reboot. We did and the conversion continued.

It has sat at step 2 of 4 for 6 hours. I finally forced manual mode and it shows the lost of corrupt SYSTEM file error.

Not too impressed at this point. First the workaround of renaming the directory, now the faulty conversion and unusable VM. It appears my only choice now is to do a repair with Windows disk.

Being this is not my computer, I do not know what Service Pack level he was running in his XP VM. Plus I am now 5 hours away.

I would appreciate some assistance in resolving this. Obviously, my access will be limited until I am back in from of the laptop.
