    I'm using 4.0.3846 on SL 10.6.1.

I have unchecked "Enable Mac OS X system shortcuts".

I have the aluminum keyboard on a MacPro 1,1

The F1 through F4 keys do not do anything in Windows in any application or in explorer.
If I use the on screen keyboard in Windows, the F-keys work. Not very useful.

    Any Ideas to fix this?

just for giggles I tried the old keyboard that has the clear plastic try like thing. when I have both plugged in, the old one is listed as Apple Extended USB Keyboard. F1 - F4 work fine with this one.

not with the Apple Keyboard, which is the thin aluminum one.

So it's not a settings issue.

    Hello,

If you want F-buttons to be recognized as they are, go to the Apple 'System menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard & Mouse (Hardware section), open the tab 'Keyboard' and check option 'Use F1-F12 keys to control software features'.

On MacBook please enable Use all F1 etc. keys as standard... option in keyboard settings.

Also, on Mac Book series, instead of F-button you may use use FN button combination, e.g. FN+F8 instead of F8.
